Frida’s hands, earrings
Inspiring Frida. The “Frida’s Hands” piece is inspired in the self-portrait she dedicated to Dr. Eloesser in 1940.
She gifted him this painting, where she presents herself wearing hand-shaped earrings, that Pablo Picasso had given to her. These earrings are a reference to the “milagros”. In Mexico, the milagros are pieces made of wax or ivory, in the shape of a body part that a person wishes to get healed. People leave them on the altar of a saint, usually the saint they have been praying to.
This piece is made of silver. These are two small hoops from which different charms can hang. We have designed three charms inspired by Frida. Approximate size of the hands: 2.5 cm long. Simple silver hoop: 12 mm diameter.
